With the Industry Insights track at Casual Connect Tel Aviv, top people in the games industry will share their knowledge about regional and global strategies, lead off by Playful Shark founder Goldy G.

Asian Insights

Sessions will get underway with Baris Ozistek, CEO of Netmarble EMEA, who will talk about some takeaways from launching products in multiple Asian markets. In the session, ‘Learning to Succeed in Asia with Netmarble Case Studies’ they’ll detail what works and what doesn’t when localizing a game in the territory.

The focus on the Asian market continues with Jex Li, Regional BD Lead for Tencent, in a session titled ‘Win Together in China – The Most Valuable Data for China Gaming Market’. Jex will look at the data that helps Western developers succeed in the unique Chinese market. Similarly, ironSource CMO and co-founder Omer Kaplan will discuss Asia’s growing importance to mobile trends and how developers should adapt to the new mobile economy in the session ‘How is Asia Changing the Mobile Landscape?’.

Making Games Great

Unlike most of the data-driven sessions, ‘What’s Your Point? Closing the Gap Between Creative Teams and Their Clients’ from Playtika’s VP Creative Yoni Ushin will focus on the art of the creating a video game. While Yoni examines the “what” of game development, Plarium Mobile UA Team Leader Barak Levanon will talk about how celebrities can be beneficial for UA in ‘Leveraging Mobile User Acquisition with High Profile Celebrities’. In particular, Barak will talk about what Plarium’s got from a partnership with actress Megan Fox.




Among the ways to help games appeal to people is video, especially in the realm of social gaming. Facebook is hoping to enhance games on their platforms, and Bob Slinn, Director of Games Partnerships EMEA at Facebook, will detail the ways that social games can be more engaging. In ‘Build Great Games and Engage your Players with Facebook’, Bob will lecture on the tools and services that can help developers, regardless of whether they’re targeting social media.

Using Data Right

In the subject of mobile game analysis, ads and in-app purchases are often seen as different strategies, but Noam Yasour, Managing Director – UK at MoPub sees them converging. In ‘Ads Monetization & In-App Purchases: Two Worlds Converge’ Noam will discuss a hybrid monetization program and the best practices for incorporating it. Sivan Enden, Strategic Partner Manager for Mobile Apps & Gaming at Google EMEA, will look admob and how to make data-driven decisions drive revenue using Firebase Analytics in order to make better mobile products in the session, ‘Data at the Heart of Your Business: Maximize the Value of Every User’.




Rounding out the sessions will be FlowPlay VP of Mobile Games Craig Robinson talking about using Haxe and OpenFL as an alternative to Actionscript/Flash in ‘Goodbye Flash, Hello OpenFL: Next Generation Cross-Platform Game Development’, Skillz CPO Bill Mooney will talk about the history of video games and how they can become esports in ‘The Evolution of Gaming: Competition is Key’ and there will also be a fireside chat with NaturalMotion CEO Torsten Reil who will be interviewed by Doron Nir, CEO and co-founder of Stream Elements.
