Best Game Audio
Best Game Audio was awarded to Kenshō developed by FIFTYTWO, a Russian game studio. Kenshō is a mysterious game that takes place within a ruined room with doors opening onto beautiful landscapes. It is an addictive puzzle game with the player matching blocks and overcoming challenges to unfold the narrative.
Nominated for Best Game Audio were Melody Streaks by Beeble Games of India, a game where the player creates music with every move the character makes; Talking ABC by Hey-Clay of Ukraine, which uses animal characters to make learning fun; and Guns ‘n’ Stories: Bulletproof VR by Mirowin of Ukraine, bringing VR to the Wild West Era.

yellowHEAD will be hosting a panel at Casual Connect Kyiv this week to discuss user acquisition techniques for developers and publishers to fuel their game growth into 2020. While it brought some attention to diversity-related issues in the country, it’s still up to particular companies how to implement diversity-friendly policies and adapt them to local reality. While being part of global processes and tagging along with adopting best practices from other countries, Ukraine has it’s own array of diversity-related issues, with the status of women in managing positions, work-parenting balance, as well as major accessibility problems being the main ones. Casual Connect has always been about educating game developers to keep them at the top of their game. Recently, Computer Games Association, Casual Connect’s parent organization, unveiled their United in Education initiative. Calling it their “largest initiative”, United in Education is meant to provide “a comprehensive set of educational materials for games industry professionals”. At Casual Connect Kyiv this will be reflected in two days of hands-on workshops under the United in Education track. The workshops can essentially be split into three categories: business development, game monetization, and platform insights.

The characters he meets along his way have all been impacted by the collapse of the world and represent the five stages of grief (denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance). The characters help him overcome the obstacles he meets and he helps them find their place in the world.
Indie Developers from Northwestern countries in Europe including one team representing each of these countries: Sweden, Denmark, Finland and The Netherlands will compete at the 20th Indie Prize which will be held in conjunction with Casual Connect Kyiv 2017.
Sweden’s participant in Indie Prize is an unusual adventure game that is already attracting attention in several categories in the app stores.

Do you like action? How about music? Disco Flip combines the two with an endless runner world. There are countless characters, each with their own music and visuals. And the player must navigate both obstacles and enemies to succeed in this game.
The Ukraine is bringing a wide variety of games to participate in Indie Prize at Casual Connect in Kyiv.
